Cheryl is a lawyer (called in 1986) and mediator (initially trained in 1991). She has been focusing on her mediation and collaborative practice since 2000. Cheryl has mediated many types of issues, but primarily in the areas of family law and child protection mediation.
Cheryl has been a director of the BC Mediator Roster Society since 2003 and since 2005, has served on the Roster Sub-Committee. Cheryl is a member of the Civil Roster, the Family Roster and the Child Protection Roster.
Cheryl was the co-chair of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Okanagan Section of the Canadian Bar Association from 2000 until 2003.

Joyce Bradley, Q.C. |
Joyce has worked with the Child Protection mediation program since its beginning in the late 1990’s. Trained as a lawyer, Joyce began mediating in 1985 and in 1989 restricted Joyce's law practice to mediation and related activities. Joyce retired from the active practice of law in December 2006, but continue to mediate part time.
In addition to mentoring in the Child Protection program, Joyce has mentored for the Small Claims Court Practicum Program, the Family Mediation Practicum Project, and CORE at UBC. Joyce has also taught child law to mediators, and presented and coached in numerous mediation workshops and courses since 1985.
As an interest-based mediator, Joyce try to remain aware of the potential for change, growth and creativity in settlement agreements as part of a satisfactory resolution of legal issues. In child protection mediation, Joyce is particularly aware of working with perceived power imbalances, a variety of cultural backgrounds, and addiction and mental health issues.

Mykie Brown |
Myra (Mykie) Brown has been mediating since 1989. Mykie believes that it is vital to create environments where all participants have a voice, feel safe and are treated with dignity and respect. Areas mediated include child protection, intergenerational family, personal injury, workplace, harassment, discrimination and abuse including the first residential school mediations in the province of British Columbia, with 2 to 60 participants. Working in both the public and private sector, Mykie custom designs mediation and training programs, surveys and practicums. She works with Boards on communication, strategic planning and enterprise risk management. Since 1998, Mykie has developed and delivered 3-credit courses including Mediation 1 & 2, Managing Conflict in the Workplace and Training Techniques at BCIT.

Colleen Cattell, Q.C., C. Med. |

Colleen Cattell is a lawyer and mediator with McKechnie & Company in Vancouver. She obtained her law degree from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law in 1985, was called to the Bar in 1986, and has worked as a mediator since 1999.
Colleen is a member of the B.C. Mediator Roster (Civil) and (Child Protection), served as Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law from 2002 to 2006 where she taught mediation advocacy, has served on the board and as president (since 2003) of the BC Dispute Resolution Practicum Society and is a frequent speaker on dispute resolution topics for CLE. She is also a member of the Commercial Mediation Association and the CanSolve Global Group of Mediators, and does negotiation training and consulting in affiliation with ENS International, a global consulting network in over 48 countries and 10 languages.

Bob Finlay |
Bob Finlay has a Master’s Degree in Psychology, is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist, a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counsellor. He has been a practicing therapist for 35 years. He is a member of the Family Roster and a Board Director of the BC Mediator Roster Society. He has been a child protection mediator for 3 and 1/2 years and has conducted 170 child protection mediations. In addition, he has mediated several hundred Family Relations Act files and previously was a mentor in the DRPS Family Mediation Practicum Project. He is currently involved in presenting educational sessions to mediators on “managing the client with addictions and mental health issues in mediation.” Bob utilizes family systems and solution-focused therapy principles in his mediation practice.

Terry Harris |
Terry is a lawyer and mediator who provides mediation in child protection, commercial and family matters. He holds the Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute of British Columbia and instructs with the Continuing Legal Education Society of B.C. and the Justice Institute of British Columbia. His former career was in counseling and social service administration. Terry holds a degree in BA in Psychology, LLB, and MA in Human Security and Peacebuilding. He has worked in Southern Sudan and Uganda providing mediation and rule of law training. He brings a unique mix of experience from his work as the Director of a crisis line, a marriage counselor, a street youth worker, a police constable, a juvenile detention unit supervisor, and twenty-four years at the Bar.

Arlene Henry |
Arlene is a chartered mediator, lawyer, instructor, coach and arbitrator. She began mediating in 1998 and is experienced in working with diverse cultures.
She has been mediating child protection disputes for over five years and has recently presented her paper on Children's Participation in Child Protection Mediations at related conferences in Capetown and Puerto Rico.
She is a Certified Comprehensive Family Mediator and a roster member of the B.C. Mediator Roster Society (Civil, Family & Child Protection). She served six years on the Vancouver Foundation's Children, Youth & Families Advisory Committee and is a former mentor in the BC Family Mediation Practicum Project.

Judith Kennedy |
A graduate of the Conflict Resolution Certificate program at the Justice Institute of BC, Judith Kennedy is a member of the BC Mediator Roster (Civil), the Provincial Court (Civil) Mediator Roster and the BC Child Protection Mediator Roster.
Her mediation practice, established in 2000, has included child protection matters; separation, divorce and parenting issues; employee relations; commercial and contract disputes and victim-young offender issues.
With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and 20 years experience working with low income persons with legal problems (Legal Aid), Judith has conducted over 150 mediations. “I believe in providing a mediation environment that improves relationships and empowers participants to find solutions that will meet their needs in the long term.”

Wendy Lakusta |
Wendy Lakusta's background in Social Services has included working with youth, families and persons with disabilities. Her mediation training began at the Justice Institute and led to completion of the Family Law Mediation and Advanced Civil Mediation certificate programs at the CLE. She has worked as a family mediator for the B.C. Provincial Court and has been with the B.C. Dispute Resolution Practicum Society, mentoring small claims disputes since 1998.
Wendy also facilitates child protection mediations and is a mentor with the Child Protection Practicum Program. She is currently working with the Provincial Dispute Resolution Office with a focus on mediator development and mediation practice standards. Wendy has developed and facilitated many conflict resolution and workplace mediation training programs for government agencies and the private sector.

Ron Monk |
Ron has a background in broadcast communications and non-profit management. He has a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute of B.C. and in 1989 participated in a commercial mediation program through the B.C. International Commercial Arbitration Centre. Further training has included screening for abuse and control, organizational intervention and mediation in cross-cultural settings.
Ron's mediation practice currently includes family, child protection, neighbourhood and business issues, workplace interventions and facilitation of multi-party processes. He was involved with the first child protection mediation project in B.C. in 1992.
Ron is a member of Family Mediation Canada, Conflict Resolution Network Canada, and has been an instructor with the Justice Institute since 1991.

Bobbi Noble |
Bobbi Noble, C.Med. Mediator and facilitator. Bobbi has completed the Certificate in Conflict Resolution at the Justice Institute, worked as a mediator with the Court (Civil) Mediation Program for three years and has been on the Child Protection Mediator Roster since 2002. She has also taken coaching training through the Coaches Training Institute (CTI) in California.
Bobbi has mediation and facilitation experience working with families, First Nations, government, health authorities, non-profit societies, people with developmental disabilities, and people with mental illness.
As a mediator, Bobbi believes in the creativeness and resourcefulness of people and the value of people working together to resolve their own disputes, whenever possible. Bobbi uses an interest based approach to mediation and has a style that is facilitative and supportive of all parties.

Sally O'Sullivan |
Sally is an energetic Chartered Mediator and facilitator. Her passion for helping people move forward in their lives infuses her work as a mediator, facilitator, teacher and coach. Sally is a mentor for new mediators in the Province Civil Court and is an active Child Protection Mediator. She has a unique skill set, which combines over 25 years of business, mediation, coaching, negotiation, and teaching dispute resolution and communication to corporations. Sally has a certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institution of B.C., certificates in Family Law Mediation and Advance Family Law Mediation from CLE, and her C. Med designation from ADR Institute of Canada.

Linda Ogle |
Linda Ogle is self-employed as a fulltime Child Protection mediator. She has been on the CP Mediator Roster for 5 years and during that time has been increasingly busy mediating in a number of communities. This has afforded her the opportunity to become familiar with varied cultures and areas, particularly First Nations communities. Occasionally Linda also gives training in mediation for social workers.
Linda has worked in Ontario and BC. She has a Masters of Social Work degree from UBC and has almost completed her course work for her certification in Conflict Resolution. Linda's work experience includes child protection, foster care and adoption, parent-teen mediation, custody and access agreements and counseling. In addition to her work as a mediator she is one of the mediators recently selected for the opportunity to mentor new mediators.
Linda lives on Gabriola Island. She has the freedom to work flexible hours and to be able to travel to wherever a mediator is needed.

Richard Singer |
Richard Singer, Manager of Training, has a wealth of experience as a mediator, mentor, and trainer. Richard has been a Child Protection mediator since 1996 and has conducted well over 500 child protection mediations. A mediation mentor since 1998, Richard mentors in the Court Mediation Program, Family Mediation Practicum Project, and Child Protection Mediation Practicum. In addition, Richard has cultivated an expertise in organizational development, specializing in workplace mediation, team building, facilitation, and Respectful Workplace training.
Richard holds a Masters' Degree in Counselling Psychology, a Certificate in Conflict Resolution, and a BC Teaching Certificate. He is certified as a Family Relations Mediator.

Sharon Sutherland |
Sharon is Manager of Development for the Child Protection Mediation Practicum and an Assistant Professor at UBC Faculty of Law.
Sharon has a long history with the BC Dispute Resolution Practicum Society (DRPS): from 1998-2003, she was co-Program Manager of the Court Mediation Program and from 2003-2006, she served on the Board of Directors. Sharon is a member of the BC Mediator Roster (Civil) and the BC Child Protection Mediator Roster and acts as Clinic Supervisor for the student-run CoRe Conflict Resolution Clinic. Sharon mentors mediators in Child Protection, Small Claims and CoRe mediations, and is the mediation trainer for the Society of Notaries Public.
Sharon is a member of the BC Bar and holds an LL.M. in ADR. She also received her M.A. in Drama and Theatre Studies from the University of London, and has completed all work but her thesis towards a Ph.D. in Drama from the University of Toronto.
