

Karen Bourgeault | 
Karen is a Senior Small Claims Mediator and Mentor in the Small Claims Court Mediation Practicum Program. She practices mediation in the areas of real estate, strata property and construction. A graduate of the Justice Institute's Conflict Resolution Certificate Program, Karen obtained the designation of Chartered Mediator in 2001 from the ADR Institute of Canada and is a member of the BC Civil Mediator Roster Society.
Karen serves on a number of boards and committees, currently on the boards of the BC Arbitration and Mediation Institute, BC International Commercial Arbitration Centre and the Conflict Resolution (CoRe) Society of BC (CoRe Clinic).

Patricia Huggins | 
Patricia Huggins is a lawyer. She began mediating in 1996 and since the year 2000, practiced only as a mediator.
Patricia is a member of both the B.C. Family and Civil Mediation Rosters and has been authorized by the Law Society to practice Family Law Mediation since 1996. She also mediates I.C.B.C. claims. She is a Small Claims Mediator and Mentor for the Court Mediation Program.
Her professional associations include that she was the founding secretary and current member of the Nanaimo CBA ADR subsection. She is a past Director of the B.C. Dispute Resolution Practicum Society. She is also a member of the Nanaimo Mediation Group.

Vivian Kerenyi | 
Vivian has been mediating since 1987.
Vivian mediates all components of family law disputes as well as construction, creditor - debtor, community, wrongful dismissal, and work place matters. She received her Family Mediation Canada certification in 1998 and is a comprehensive family law mediator. Vivian also mediates in the area of relationship building assisting family members with reunification after periods of estrangement or alienation. Vivian has coached, trained, and lectured law students in dispute resolution.
Vivian’s combined background in social work and law allows her to bring a wide and varied mix of experience to her mediation practice.

Wendy Lakusta | 
Wendy Lakusta's background in Social Services has included working with youth, families and persons with disabilities. Her mediation training began at the Justice Institute and led to completion of the Family Law Mediation and Advanced Civil Mediation certificate programs at the CLE. She has worked as a family mediator for the B.C. Provincial Court and has been with the B.C. Dispute Resolution Practicum Society, mentoring small claims disputes since 1998.
Wendy also facilitates child protection mediations and is a mentor with the Child Protection Practicum Program. She is currently working with the Provincial Dispute Resolution Office with a focus on mediator development and mediation practice standards. Wendy has developed and facilitated many conflict resolution and workplace mediation training programs for government agencies and the private sector.

Alex Ning | 
Alex Ning received his initial mediation training through the Society of Notaries Public, subsequently completed the Certificate in Conflict Resolution at the Justice Institute and granted the designation of Chartered Mediator (C.Med.) by ADR Institute of Canada. He is a mediator and notary in private practice and a principal of BDR Business Dispute Resolution, Inc.
Alex is on the B.C. Mediator Roster (Civil), Mediator's Roster of the General Insurance Obudservice, and the Provincial Court Civil Roster. He is a past Director in the UBC CoRe Conflict Resolution Society. His conflict resolution experience included mediation, facilitation, coaching and training.

Sally O'Sullivan | 
Sally is an energetic Chartered Mediator and facilitator with over 25 years of practical business experience. She is a member of the BC Arbitration and Mediation Institute, a member of the B.C. Mediator Roster and is an active Child Protection Mediator. Sally has extensive experience in corporate and work place mediation and as a Coach and workshop leader in ADR skills for professionals in BC. For many years she acted as a facilitator for a well-known life skills seminar, being trained by Dr. Phil McGraw's business partner. She is passionate about assisting people to move in a forward direction.

Howard Nemtin | 
After receiving his MBA form the University of Western Ontario Howard commenced a thirty-five year career in real estate development and construction with 30 years as President of his own firm. He has developed major projects throughout the province.
In 1997-8 he trained in dispute resolution with the BC Law Society CLE and The Justice Institute of BC. Howard has conducted over 1,000 mediations in personal injury, disability and business disputes.
He holds memberships in the Commercial Mediators' Association, the BC Mediator Roster Society and a Mentor in the Court Mediation Program.
In 2003 he published "Communities in Cooperation - A Guide to Alternate Dispute Resolution for First Nations and Local Governments in British Columbia"

Marlene Russo |
Marlene Russo is both a lawyer and mediator in private practice. Marlene is a Mentor for mediators being trained through the Provincial Court (Civil) Mediation Program and is also a Provincial Court (Civil) Mediator. Marlene is also a member of the BC Mediator Roster Society.
Marlene also provides facilitation, consulting and training services for respectful workplace programs and for matters arising from workplace conflict. Marlene recently spent a year as the Interim Director for the Office for the Prevention of Discrimination and Harassment (now known as the Human Rights Office) at the University of Victoria.

Gordon White | 
Along with his practical problem solving focus, Gordon White facilitates the awakening of individuals, and the transformation of relationships and groups. Gordon trains and coaches at the Justice Institute’s Centre for Conflict Resolution. He has a diverse mediation and facilitation practice which adds flexibility and comprehensiveness to his approach. Areas of practice include government, corporate, family, community, and court-based settings. Approaches encompass mediation, team building, coaching, and talking circles. Gordon has degrees in zoology and business and has studied psychology both informally and at University. He resides in Victoria, loves the natural world, and is an enthusiastic dancer of Argentine Tango.
